On Hold Marketing vs. On Hold Advertising

On Hold Marketing.  On Hold Advertising.  What’s the difference?

Marketing, according to Encarta Dictionary, is a noun meaning to sell products or services. It’s further defined as “the business activity of presenting products or services in such a way as to make them desirable.”

Advertising, according to Encarta Dictionary, is a noun meaning to publicly promote something. It’s further defined as “the public promotion of something such as a product, service, business, or event in order to attract or increase interest in it.”

So the question becomes; would you rather sell your products and services through on-hold marketing or publicly promote your products and services with advertising?

I prefer the “relationship marketing” . I enjoy meeting new people and building relationships within the community.
